Memory and Depression Study

HippoCamera and Depression Study

This study is interested in researching if hippoCamera memory replay can help increase the mood of older adults with depression, while it also helps improve memories.

Who Can Participate:

  • Adults 65 years of age and/ older
  • Those without a history of seizures
  • Must own a smartphone/table with a camera

Duration:

  • Participation will include an in-person visit to obtain a medical history, some measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.), and draw a single vial of blood. The entire meeting will take no longer than 40-45 minutes.

Mousa Lab Blood Bank

Principal Investigator: Jarrod Mousa, PhD

This research study will collect blood samples from participants so that researchers can examine the antibodies in the blood and how it responds to infectious diseases. Participants can come either as one time visit or up to 5 visits.

Who Can Participate:

  • 18-80 years old.
  • Weigh 110 lbs or more.
  • HIV and Hepatitis Negative.
  • Not pregnant.
  • Must be willing to come to the CTRU at Innovation Park.

Compensation:

  • Up to $20 gift card for each full sample visit.

Neurolinguistic Investigations of Aphasia and Typical Language Processing

Principal Investigator: Sladjana Lukic, PhD

The study is focused on understanding typical language and language impairment resulting from stroke or dementia.

    • The study involves testing language and cognitive abilities and brain scanning using MRI.
    • Participants time in this study can take up to 4 hours.
    • Who Can Participate as as a healthy participant:

        • 40-85 years old
        • No history of aphasia, head trauma or psychotic disorder.
        • English is your native language.
        • Who Can Participate as an aphasia participant:

            • 40-85 years old
            • History of aphasia as a result of a stroke or dementia .
            • English is your native language.

Project UNCAGE

Principal Investigator: Pooja Ichplani

The purpose of this study is to examine family communication patterns in participants’ childhoods and explore how these patterns have influenced their lives.

Who Can Participate:

  • Individuals between 18- 26
  • Florida Resident

Duration:

  • Participants will complete a survey that can take around 30 minutes.

Compensation of $30 gift card is provided within 15 business days after survey completion.
